The production area

-

olive taggiasche The production area of the taggiasca goes from the valley of Albenga (province of Savona) until Monaco, extending in the inland until to approximately 700 meters of altitude.

In the marginal zones often it is mixed with others cultivar, while in the whole province of Imperia becomes de facto a monoculture.

There isn't a Commune with a prevalence of olive cultivation, but some areas, thanks to the microclimate and to the geomorphological characteristics, allow a production of quality above the average, moreover already elevated.

In coastal belt of the far west the cultivation of the olive tree has been replaced with that one, apparently more profitable, of the flowers, causing the "vetrification" of entire hills with easily imaginable result on the hydrogeological order of the valleys and the coast towns.

The things that render the taggiasca unique in the world are mainly:
- the land
- the water
- the climate

The perfect combination of these three elements has made possible that our product assumed such characteristics to be always imitated but never equaled.
